Ukrainian Ports Demonstrates Good Results

In 2008 Ukrainian ports handled 132.178 mln tons of cargoes (+7%).
The volume of handled export cargoes increased by 12% to 60.196 mln tons. Import increased by 21% to 15.132 mln tons, official website of Ukraine's Ministry of Transport and Communications reports  Odessa port and Nikolaev port demonstrated best results – 34.562 mln tons and 9.254 mln tons respectively.
Also, the best results were demonstrated by the port of Kherson – 4.264 mln tons of cargoes.
The highest grow rates of cargo transshipment were achieved by Ust-Danube port (+200%), port of Evpatoria (+39%), port of Feodosia (+24%), port of Nikolaev (+21%) and sea trading port of Reni (+20%).
