Cargo turnover of the Odessa port for May 2009

Cargo handling of the port of Odessa for May 2009 reduced 683,2 thousand tons or 23,3% to 2.245,7 thousand tons against May, 2008.
Throughput of the port for January – May, 2009 on operative data has made 12.226,1 thousand tons, 2.720,8 thousand tons or 18,2% less the same period 2008.

In spite of some decline of port throughput, in May 2009 Odessa port for 5 months has increased handling of dry cargoes 15,7 thousand tons or 1,2% against May 2009. From the beginning of 2009 dry cargoes handling has made 7.048,8 thousand tons, up 226,6 thousand tons or 3,3% compared with January-May, 2008.

Container handling of the Odessa port for May, 2009 made 18.204 TEU (12.195 units), down 38,9% (16.764 units) against same period 2008.
For January-May 2009 the container turnover made 91.196 TEU (58.564 units), down 43,1% or 71.327 units.
